Introduction
Hello All,
My name is Fiona Allen, and I am a late registrant to Women's Health and Wellbeing. I am an occupational therapist practicing in Southern Indiana full-time in a skilled nursing facility and PRN in Home Health.
I graduated with my bachelor's in OT in the UK in 1993. Since then, I have lived and practiced in Canada and the US, living in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC), for 16 years before moving to Borden, IN, in 2010. Vancouver and the surrounding province of BC are some of my favorite places. My favorite memories include taking advantage of the sun, sea, and mountains there and around Montreal, where I learned to snowboard.
A positive characteristic of mine that makes me feel good about myself is my desire to help. This applies to people and animals, and I try where I see the need, although sometimes to my detriment.
I hope to gain a more complete understanding of women's health in its complexity and lifelong context in a more thorough manner and come away from the course with a skill set that I can apply and better serve my clinical charges in the long term.

ReplyDeleteHello, Fiona. I really enjoyed your website addition; it would be useful not only for healthcare practitioners, but also for other students. My favorite part was how you went into great depth and even utilized photographs to demonstrate the differences in pelvic diameters between men and women, as well as informing how women are more susceptible to injury, which is something I was not aware of. Providing information about menopause was a pleasant surprise, as I do not believe that women's health when it come to menopause is adequately discussed. Your use of headers and subheadings made it easy to follow along while also providing an introduction to each section's topic. Your webpage was straightforward and simple to follow. The only thing that I would change is adding more color such as changing the coloring of the wording, as pops of color draw in readers. Your title phrase "Lets get physical" was a unique way to inform readers what they were going to be reading about. The four essential elements where very much thought out and on the topic of discussion while also providing videos and images that correlated. Great Job, looking forward to reading more of your work.
